How to Join Me in the Fight for Suicide Prevention

Have you been impacted by suicide?

suicide prevention

Did you know...

A life is lost to suicide every 12.8 minutes in the United States. I was nearly one of them. The impact suicide has on the lives of family members, friends, co-workers and the community is devastating.

If you're reading this blog, you likely know this is a deeply personal issue for me. My hope is that through education and awareness, those suffering from a mental illness will be prompted to seek help.

On Sunday, November 5th, I'm walking in the Out of the Darkness Alabama Walk to fight suicide and support AFSP's bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by 2025.

A suicide attempt wasn't the end of my story. In fact, it is where my life began. I am owning my story and doing the hard work of recovery. As a result, I am doing my part to reduce stigma, while empowering, educating, and inspiring others to own their story, too.

Please consider donating to help me reach my goal. You may either donate online, or you may send a check (made payable to AFSP) to AFSP, 120 Wall Street, 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005.  Please write my name in the memo line of all checks.  Thank you so much for your support!

My personal fundraising goal is $1,000. I would appreciate any support that you can give me for this worthwhile cause.

[If you have been personally touched by suicide, please leave your story in the comments.]

Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation click the "Support Me" link at the bottom of this blog and then click the "Support Me" button on my fundraising page.

Thanks so much for considering joining me in the fight to reduce suicide and stigma. If you have any questions, feel free to visit www.afsp.org or respond in the comments.
